ADVENTURE TIME
i have the full blueray box set of this show despite not owning a blueray. thats how much i love it. no but really i grew up with this show and it evolved into such a complex and beautiful and precedent-setting story for kids television and it holds such an important space in my heart. bonus points for dnd nerdiness and marceline. also finn is trans
SPIDERVERSE SERIES
SIPDERVERSE! MILES!!!! oh my god each movie is like my dream movie in every way. beautiful mix of 2d and 3d animation with a compelling and fun cast of characters (that are all stylistically diverse!) in a well written story with incredible sound design made with nothing but love. AND IT HAS SPIDERMAN!!! spiderverse miles is easily my favorite spiderman ever and the "anyonec can wear the mask" speech makes me cry every single time AH. (btw im not even that big into superheros so if you arent either you should still watch and love spiderverse)
FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: BROTHERHOOD
ok truth be told i dont really watch anime much but fmab is just. chefs kiss. i loved the story and characters the whole way through and it had some twists and turns i was not expecting which is rare for me!! the symbolism is awesome and the character design and world lore are super impressive. if i could rewatch this show with no memory of it i would in a heartbeat
ARRIVAL
what an incredible movie, i think i watched it when it first came out and then had a hard time finding it again for a while for whatever reason. it doesnt lose any of its power with each rewatch, and i can easily say that it changed how i thought about communication, time, and mortality. the screenplay for it is also awesome if you can get your hands on it! the movie is free on youtube if you haven't had the chance to watch it yet, i really recommend you do!
MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC
i grew up watching the g1 movie "quest of the princess ponies" over and over again and fim came out when i was right in the age range to enjoy it so you Know i was all about it. mlp is a show i know ill be able to enjoy no matter how old i get bc lauren faust built its foundation with so much creativity and love and humor and wit!! pinkie pie fluttershy and sunburst are my fav ponies and discord sombra and chrysalis are my fav villains
BLUEY
all of the hype around this show is so deserved, as an aspiring animator the visuals on this show are fantastic and the writing even better!! watching this show is such a sweet heartfelt time, and i really do feel like its one of those shows that anyone of any age could watch and take something from :] i couldnt pick one favorite character, but if i could be anybody id want to be bandit. ultimate cool dad energy
